SD 24: John Pettit SDEC Committeeman

Brief Description:
Past County Chair and longtime progressive activist

If Elected to Office:

  1. Transparency in Democratic Party finances. The members of the SDEC, and for that matter donors to the Party, should be able to see how donations are being spent. The SDEC cannot fulfill their fiduciary duty without this information.
  2. The Democratic Party won the lottery with the huge influx of people who participated in the convention process this year, from precinct to county to the state conventions. The Party should utilize this information in an internal database of activists which is owned and maintained in-house. There were 1.3 million folks who showed up at the precinct conventions, and I refuse to allow that gold mine to be wasted in spreadsheets that cannot tell us much of anything.
  3. I refuse to live in fear of anything; most particularly the opposition party. They are Cons. Con artists, convicts (cough Scooter Libby cough), and generally contrary to the public good. They will not like an outspoken aggressive progressive, so they can Kiss My Fluffy Donkey Tail.
